Modernizing a trading floor inside a landmark Manhattan tower.
A global financial institution set out to expand its trading floor inside a preserved Manhattan building. Ornate columns, rigid layouts, and almost no route for cable meant the standard playbook was off the table before the project started.

Trading desks move constantly. The infrastructure underneath them usually assumes they do not — which is exactly the assumption a landmark building will not tolerate. C&C Technology Group was brought in by the project consultant for one reason: a track record of solving infrastructure problems in buildings that fight back.
The constraint was the building itself
The floor had to carry a modern, flexible telecommunications infrastructure without altering the structure protecting it. Preserved columns could not be cut into. Layouts could not be moved. Traditional pathway and cabling routes simply did not exist in the places the desks needed them.
At the same time, the trading environment demanded frequent reconfiguration — desks added, moved, and re-homed on short notice. Anything requiring a rewire for every change would have failed within months.

Four products that did not exist yet
Working in partnership with Legrand, C&C specified and deployed a suite of bespoke components. A custom flush-mount zone box was retrofitted into the historic columns. An underfloor relocatable copper jack box gave the floor plug-and-play mobility. A metal surface-mount desk box carried colour-coded Cat6. A fiber enclosure was repurposed to serve Cat6 zone cabling.
Each was engineered against the same three requirements: flexibility, durability, and visual harmony with the building’s legacy features. The result was a floor where desks could be moved rapidly without rewiring, and where none of the infrastructure fought the architecture.
Legrand and C&C have enjoyed a multi-decade relationship that truly represents what a partnership is all about. We invest and win together. They act as an extension of our company in the markets they serve.

Why the consultant called C&C
Al Festa led the work, bringing close to four decades of experience with high-complexity infrastructure and a reputation for solving what others had written off. The firm was chosen specifically for its ability to work inside difficult environments and deliver tailored solutions that stay practical.
The Legrand relationship let the team push customization further than a catalogue allows without inflating the budget — the advantage of a rep who can get a manufacturer’s engineering team on the phone.
What the floor got, and what Legrand got
C&C managed the project from concept through execution and delivered a future-proofed trading floor on time and within budget. Desk moves that would have meant a rewire became a plug-and-play operation.
The work outlived the project. Several of the components custom-built for this floor were adopted into Legrand’s standard product line — a client problem that turned into a manufacturer’s catalogue item.
